Online Single Dating - About Christian Dating

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

There are many claims to finding a Christian relationship, but they never seem to come through. Finding someone at church or in your circle of friends may fail you because you are looking for a particular type of person. Someone that has a specific look, personality and definitely a Christian lifestyle, is that too much to ask for? No it is not and Christian dating may just be the solution. Many Christian have turned to online dating to open up the door to people from all over the world. A good thing about online Christian dating is that it allows for others to know your faith up front and likely share the same faith. Individuals that serve Jesus Christ want to find a mate that shares the same conviction as they do. Out of faith marriages and relationships suffer greatly in most cases. This is because the individuals do not establish a good foundation. Christian dating can provide the tool for finding a Christian mate that is perfect for you.

As most Christians understand the basics of dating and anything else for that matter must have the basic beliefs of faith to develop properly. Christian dating allows for people to find potential mates that are willing to not only have a good relationship, but also live their life serving the Lord. Dating is a chance to get to know one another and make sure that you are compatible before you take any steps of progression. This is one of the great things about Christian dating, you have a chance to get to know the person. Christians are advised to take the relationship slow and ensure that they are truly matched before making a commitment.

There are many great Christian dating sites where you can search for the perfect mate. Not only can you search by faith but also by other qualities that you are looking for. Just because they are a Christian does not necessarily mean that you are compatible. So to rectify this you can divulge the qualities and traits that you are looking for in your profile or posting. This gives others a chance to know what you are looking for. This helps weed out some of the individuals that you may not have an attraction to. A word to the wise, when using a Christian dating service make sure that you are truthful about your religion and faith, Christians take this issue very seriously. They are not looking for someone outside the faith, but someone already practicing Christianity.

Many of the Christian dating sites offer a variety of ways to put you in touch with other Christians in your area. In some cases there may be meetings, gatherings or events that you can attend and find other single Christians. Some of the singles may hold monthly gatherings to meet new people and introduce religious lessons as well. Christian dating allows for people to find others that abide by the same religious rules and customs that they have practiced all of their life. It is much easier to get along with a mate and have a fulfilling relationship if the two individuals have a similar background and religious faith. Sharing a relationship is a blessing that God has given us as man and woman, so give Christian dating a chance. Dating inside the faith will not only strengthen your convictions, but also give you the pleasure of a fulfilling relationship.

Love and Online Dating for The Single Christian

Single Christians Dating and Finding Love

As Christians, we know that finding a partner with whom to share our life with is not always as straightforward as regularly attending our church, going to bible camp, or joining our church choir… It is true many have found their wives and husbands this way, but for many of us now, the landscape for finding love has changed considerably.

In ever increasing numbers, men and women are seeking help in finding a loving partner, and are turning to a multitude of singles dating services that cater to this need: speed dating, singles holidays, singles sports clubs… and the list goes on. Not least of all are the online dating services, which are plentiful.

Now, you might be asking what does this mean for us as Christians seeking to find a mate? Well there are many of these online dating services that are intended specifically for us as Christians wishing to meet other Christians. To check this out, do a search for “online dating for Christians”. Many of these online services are free, are easy to use, and importantly, they provide a very good opportunity to get to know someone over time, to learn about his, her, interests, hopes for the future, and moral temperament.

I realise some of you may consider this a strange or uncomfortable approach to finding a mate. New things often do feel this way, but it is also true that once we try and once we become familiar with a new thing in our lives, it becomes normalised over time. And is it not true that it is in having an open heart and an open mind that our world truly expands and God can do his work?

Now I am not suggesting that online dating is the only way, or that it will guarantee results for you, but can testify that there are many loving couples who were once sitting where you are now, and who met their partners this way. I am one of them. It didn’t happen overnight and it didn’t happen with the first man I started to communicate with. But within six months, I did meet my fiancé this way. That was two years ago.

Truly love can bloom in the most unexpected places. If we had been told twenty years ago that many, many Christians would find love from behind the screen of an electronic machine called a computer, how many of us would have believed it? Would our faith have been strong enough? God’s ways truly are mysterious but he never fails to deliver when we ask with a sincere heart and with complete faith. Sometimes we can doubt that God has heard our prayers. But deep down we know — he always hears, but sometimes he has to wait till we are truly ready for them to be answered.

Suggestions for Christian Singles Thinking of Using an Online Christian Dating Site

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

If you are interested in finding a Christian spouse and are looking to an Online Christian Dating site, you will probably need to set some guidelines. If you follow these suggestions, meeting the right person, under the right circumstances, is not difficult.

First, and most importantly, pray and submit yourself to God. God wants most men and women to be married and have a family. Therefore, pray about it. Commit yourself to God and His Word, seek His counsel and pray for Him to lead you down this path. Then by faith He will not let you down.

Secondly, try first to look to find opportunities to meet Godly singles around you. Without neglecting your home church, go on as many mission trips, and Gospel bible study meetings that you can. Join or volunteer for Christian groups that you believe in, not only for your own spiritual benefit, but to meet other Christian singles. God uses these places to bring singles of similar interests and backgrounds together.

Always accept and seek introductions to other Christian singles. This is may actually be one of the best ways to meet someone. If a true Christian friend says to you, “There is someone I would like for you to meet,” accept the invitation. It works! If there is someone you want to meet, seek an introduction through a friend. It can be very discreet, polite and effective.

If you have already tried those things, then try an online Christian dating site. These have become places for Christian singles to meet others with the same Godly values and desires. Just make sure you choose a site that is only for Christians. This way you have weeded out of your prospects anyone who is not committed to finding a partner to both share your life and to together seek God’s glory. (God’s instructions for marriage are clear that you are not to marry an unbeliever.)

Finally, seek your pastor’s advice. Before you get too serious with anyone, seek the advice of your pastor. Meet together with him and discuss important issues that define a good Christian marriage. Most couples seek premarital counseling after the wedding arrangements are already made. It is often too late. It is better to start over that commit to that person and God in marriage before you are sure.

Dating Sites For Committed Christian Singles

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

As a committed Christian, it’s important to find a partner who shares your values and faith.

So, which of the many online sites should you choose - or should you use several to increase the chances of finding a date or partner ? Whilst there are many sites purporting to offer Christian dating, it may be worthwhile looking a little closer.

Many online dating services for Christians are part of much larger organisations which offer dating for a number of niche groups - Christians, Jewish, gay, over 40’s, etc. Whilst this may not concern you, remember that the people who run these sites do not necessarily have your best interests at heart - this is a business and they are in business to make money.

Whilst it is true of the sites which are based on Christian ethics that they are running a business, you’re more likely to find that their ethics pervade the whole site. Even to the extent of sites, such as Fusion101, which are offered free as a service.

Many of the faith-based sites also offer more space within your profile to explain what your faith means to you, which books or Bible verse have meant the most to you. This is a helpful opportunity to get a real feel for what someone is really about - what their heart and vision is - rather than whether they simply enjoy swimming and tennis (although those are important too!).

If you’re not sure whether a site is run by a Christian organisation, check their menu for an “About Me” or “Statement of Faith” page to find out more about them. Best of all, ask friends what dating sites they’d recommend - most people know of couples who’ve met via the Internet - so asking them is a good way to discover what sites might work for you.
